EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — This Soviet-built MiG-29 Fulcrum flown by Maj. Peter Meisberger from Germany’s Fighter Wing 73 “Steinhoff,” Laage Air Base, Germany, fires a radar guided AA-10 “Alamo” short-burn air-to-air missile on June 10, 2003. Once an adversary for American fighter pilots, the German Luftwaffe now flies as part of NATO and regularly trains alongside American units. The German air force MiG-29s are being hosted by the 53rd Wing here during various training missions.
