The museum is located in Balboa Park, San Diego.
Balboa Park is America’s largest urban cultural park. The park stretches over a large area and offers, among other things, 15 major museums, venues, beautiful gardens and the San Diego Zoo.
Many of the beautiful buildings were built in connection with the 2 World Fairs: “Panama-California Exposition” in 1915-16 and “The California Pacific International Exposition” in 1935-36.
In front of the museum there is a Convair Seadart and a Lockheed A-12.
The museum building itself is round and in the center is the “Edwin D. McKellar Pavilion of Flight” which exhibits among other things Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina, Bell AH-1E Cobra Helicopter and a Ford 5-A-B Trimotor.
